Solano's unsurprising announcement

We all knew the sheriff was planning to run for lt. gov in '08, but now it's official. It's not the most exciting news I've ever heard...lt. governor, in general, being not the most exciting office one can hold. Plus, Solano's media friendliness is so unusual in a county sheriff (and in general) that it's made it a lot easier than it's ever been to get info out of the sheriff's department. Also, I can't believe the '08 elections are already so imminent even for local races.
